For me it is important to learn the language of the country I have chosen to live the rest of my life in. While I understand that people find it difficult to get to grips with, I have in the past used tapes and cd's and books to give me some grounding. I spoke Portuguese as a child and although it is not perfect it has given me a great deal of confidence and help in developing my Spanish.

What is the criteria you think is the most important to you when you go looking for a property. Do you want it to have a pool, near the beach, near the airport. Do you think it is highly important to be close to the airport when you only need to visit it once to fetch your family and friends and once when they leave. I personally have bought my own home here in Estepona and it is 45 mins away from the airport - I have not even been to the airport since I have been down here. I suppose I am fortunate in that respect - I drove down to Spain - to my lovely home here in Estepona.
