It is so convenitient - there is a major highway which runs the full length of the Costa del Sol along with the Toll Road which is newer less travelled on. However it is very easy to go to Marbella and Fuengirola and Benalmadena and even round to Almeria in a few hours.
Cadiz and Seville are not far away and neither is the border of Portugal.
The view of Gibralta from Estepona are stunning as wells as great views of Africa. Which is also easy to get to from Estepona.
