Tips about living in Spain

I am a social networking on Hipini.com and have just written a blog which I believe could help in your decisions for buying in Spain.

First of all it is based on my own personal experience and is my own point of views.  There are many different experiences that people have gone through however I have been honest in my appraisal of my experience here in the Costa Del Sol.

Fuengirola Apartment to let

I have a beautiful apartment to let which I think is in a great position.  It is in Los Pacos, which is about 10 min walk from the blue beaches of Fuengirola.  Fuengirola has much to offer in way of family entertainment, plenty of bars, restaurants,theatres,  cinemas, it also has a large shopping center, plus it is only approximately 15 minutes from Malaga airport.

I enjoyed my stay in this beautiful apartment for two weeks while house hunting a couple of years ago.  I can assure you the property is very comfortable and clean.

I know the owner very well and would highly recommend this property to you.

Life in the fast lane - learn to go slow

Having lived in the fast lane in the UK, it is really nice to be going at a slower pace of life, able to sit back and enjoy the sun and sea.  It is great to be able get up in the morning and look out of my windows to see the beautiful mountains that are surrounding Estepona.  Also when I then proceed to take my dog out for her early morning walk it is great to see the sea at the bottom of the road.

Today, we have been having visitors and went visiting so we have been a bit slower at getting things done.  However we are just enjoying the moment of knowing that we can be relaxing by the pool or walking in amongst the pine trees and along dry river beds just taking in all the beauty that surrounds us.

For us the transition to Spain was really quite painless once the decision to come had fianlly been set in the mind, then the adventure really started as we had to go to North Wales so I could get some driving practice in before driving all the way down from Santander through the flat lands of the Extremedura to arrive finally at Estepona, the sight of seeing Gibraltar at the end of the our journey was amazing - never in all my years was I so pleased to see such a landmark as I knew that my journey was nearly over.  I was tired and hungry and feeling hot as I had come over in August and it was hot.  However, I am glad I choose that time of the year as the sea crossing over from the UK was very calm and no incidents of bad weather - which was great for me, as I had not travelled down before and I really did not know what to expect.

Now we are settled in Spain and enjoying our new life.  We would hope to inspire others to make the same decision.  So if you are considering it but do not know how to proceed please do not hesitate to contact me suecaroline@hotmail.co.uk and I will gladly give you some tips on how i did it.

Now the time for learning a new skill and language and to meet with new people to discover hidden talents and depths to one character is amazing.

Useful books for living in Spain

These books could help you get acquainted as you start to contemplate your new life in Spain. 
I have found that by looking at the information in these books it will give you a better understanding of what you are getting involved in.

Many people come to Spain and really expect it to be a great life and it is if you are prepared to get immersed into the Spanish way of doing things.  Learning the language is imperative as it will help you to have the confidence to live amongst the Spanish without feeling separated from them.

 

I am very fortunate that as a child I lived in Brazil and learned to speak Portuguese, which has been a real blessing as it has given me the confidence to speak Spanish, also because of their being naturally basic latin languages with many similarities it is easier to learn to speak Spanish.  However do not be put off as it is a great joy to be able to communicate with your neighbours.

Estepona - the California of Europe

There is so much to see and discover about this lovely place, really the opportunities are great.

We believe at Paez Real Estate that we are living in the most beautiful area of Spain.  With incredible unspoilt mountain walks and it is full of new ideas. 

This area of Costa Del Sol is definitely beginning to see more positive things coming to it.  There is a lot of renewal and new building and new businesses coming to the area. 

Estepona enjoys 340 days of sunshine a year.

WHY NOT COME AND JOIN US AND SEE THAT YOU TOO COULD BE LIVING IN A DYNAMIC AND VITAL PLACE

There is more and more projects happening and it is a great place to bring up children.  The childrens areas in and around the town centre are safe and easily accessible.

Carrefour and Mercadona are our two major supermarkets between them it keeps a very varied international population happy.

Lidl and Aldi are here too. 

Estepona is literally only about 30 mins away from Gibraltar and at lot of ex-pats work in Gib and live in Estepona.  It is so convenitient - there is a major highway which runs the full length of the Costa del Sol along with the Toll Road which is newer less travelled on.  However it is very easy to go to Marbella and Fuengirola and Benalmadena and even round to Almeria in a few hours. 

Cadiz and Seville are not far away and neither is the border of Portugal. 

The view of Gibralta from Estepona are stunning as wells as great views of Africa.  Which is also easy to get to from Estepona.
